Photographer Keira-Jane Ephraims, from Perth, Western Australia, had from a young age desired to be involved with the film industry. This desire was intensified when she came to the realisation that people in the movies were not actually superheroes! It was the passion that she derived from her younger years, combined with an inert fascination of the world, which instilled her aim of capturing the beauty of creation, in the simplest form, a photograph.
In 2004 a group of Keira-Jane’s school colleagues and herself, set off to film a documentary in the impoverished nation of Cambodia. The Documentary, entitled "A Cambodian story", was awarded three prestigious accolades, of which one was a WASA (Western Australian Screen Award). A Cambodian Story sparked the beginning of Keira’s romance with photography, as large portions of her contribution to the documentary were the hundreds of the photographs she had taken while away. Keira-Jane continued on with her photography passion throughout her school years.
Keira-janes second great love, aside from her photography, was her flair for fashion. She gradually moved into the fashion genre of photography when she started modelling (in front of the camera) with the former agency Xtreem in 2006. However, her two passions were not entwined until 2007 when on a working trip to Vietnam modelling with renowned photographer Henri Hubert (FRANCE). Her interest in fashion photography blossomed as Hubert began to teach Keira simple techniques used in magazine photography.
It was after her experiences in Vietnam that Keira-Jane decided to move her expertise to fashion photography, combining both her photographic techniques and strong sense of fashion superbly.
Keira’s work has now been published in magazines across Spain and London, as well as having worked with national models and several global companies. She is beginning to prove herself as an accomplished and professional artist.
Keira is currently working as a model with Catherine Ruze Agency and as a private photographer while studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Photography and Fashion at Edith Cowan University (MOUNT LAWLEY).
